A little bit about Sunflower Ashes....

My name is Zoe, I am a married, mother of three beautiful daughters and I am based in Scotland. I created Sunflower Ashes after a long road trying to find a way to start a small business, but also be present for the girls as much as possible. They are only small once and I don't want to miss a moment! I ended up leaving my job of 18 years as I needed a massive change in life following on from the pandemic. Tough times force us to reflect on our lives and our happiness and after having a baby during lockdown and also losing my beautiful grandmother a few months later, this made me reflect on my own so I decided to take a leap of faith! I left my job and began Sunflower Ashes.  A few times a year, I also work as a background artist for TV which is a fun, paid hobby. You can catch me in the TV show Outlander and I have also appeared in Trainspotting, among others. Its definitely an eclectic mix of jobs! but it keeps life interesting ;)

I have also, always, had such a huge passion for jewellery (I dread looking in my own jewellery box) but also art, and found a way to combine both.

The idea of Sunflower Ashes containing inclusions such as ashes, hair and even breastmilk also greatly appealed to me being a firm believer in memorialising special loved ones in our lives and special moments in our lives.

I love what I do and I am so honoured to be trusted with such precious items. This jewellery has been very popular as this is a growing method for people to preserve incredibly precious items,. but also a valued part of the grieving process for some.

Often, we do not know what to do with a loved ones ashes, or know how to capture moments that are special to us, like breastfeeding. This way, we can encapsulate something that is so important and make it last a lifetime but also, keep it close to us.

Unlike many of the memorial jewellery creators, Sunflower Ashes is more Bohemian in style and also includes exclusive pieces of jewellery which I have designed myself. These exclusive pieces are made and are copyrighted so are not available anywhere else.

My portfolio continues to grow and I hope you all love the pieces I create. Please feel free to browse the products and if you have any questions don't hesitate to contact me. You can also refer to 'the process' tab to gain an understanding of how your precious keepsakes are created.

Many thanks for supporting my small business. It means everything, as behind every small business is usually just one person and their family. So from my family to yours, again....thank you.

Much love,

Zoe x

Team Sunflower.
